You can preview an animation while you are working on it so you can see how it is progressing. Also, you can preview an animation after you optimize it to see how the exported animated GIF will look in a Web browser.
To preview an animation in the workspace:
Use the frame controls.
In Windows, the frame controls appear in the Status bar. On the Macintosh, they appear at the bottom of the document window.

Note these concepts when previewing animations:

To set how long each frame appears in the document window, enter frame delay settings in the Frames panel. |

Frames that will not be included in the export do not appear when previewing the animation. |

The animation repeats until you stop it, regardless of the loop settings in the Frames panel. |

Previewing the animation in the Original document window displays the source graphic at full resolution, not the optimized 8-bit preview used for the exported animated GIF. |
To preview an animation in the Preview window:
1 | Click the Preview tab at the top of the document window. |
2 | Use the frame controls. |

Note: Previewing animations in 2-Up or 4-Up previews is not recommended.
To preview an animation in a Web browser:
Choose File > Preview in Browser, and choose a browser from the submenu.
To preview an animation in the Export Preview dialog box:
1 | Choose File > Export Preview to open the Export Preview dialog box. |
2 | Use the frame controls to display the animated GIF exactly as it will be exported. |
